The artist behind the beautiful Rosnay wine labels is Florence Statham. Born in 1946 in Lyon, France, Florence (nee Leclerc) migrated to Australia in the early 1970s, when she married Richard Statham. The mother of Sam, Nick and Oliver, Florence began painting in Randwick, Sydney, in 1974, and her early paintings were abstract and inspired by cubist and religious art. In 1980 she, Richard and sons moved to a farm at Barraba where she expored watercolour, pastels, thin oil layers and glazing effects, capturing the light and space of outback Australia. She continued to paint in this style on trips back to France, visiting the places of her youth. Now in Canowindra, she paints a landscape of crops and small farms, punctuated by colourful wildlife and flowing rivers in the works that now feature on her wines
